There are places on my carpet that my puppy has had accidents, and places where the person who used to live heres cat urinated on the carpet…and I can't get rid of the smell. Some places say to use vinegar and water…and some places say that vinegar will attract pets to the spots more…Some say that baking soda and water works….so what do I use? Does anyone have any ways that they have tried that have really worked?

I use Nature's Miracle for stain and odor removal. It works great. It is made to remove urine and such from carpet and all. I work for a vet and we sell it to people and they love it. You can get it at Petsmart or order it from a lot of places.

She's 5yrs old and has had this problem her entire life. We have to put plastic over our furniture, close doors to all the rooms but the cat room, make sure there are no papers/bags/clothes on the floor. Even if the catbox is brand new clean, she still will only poop in it and pee elsewhere. She does not have any illnesses and has always been 100% healthy at the vet. We've used Pinesol and animal urine removal products, but to no avail, she still pees. Any ideas/help?

gee, got some real nice people giving great advice….guy who keeps telling them to rub their nose in it….you should learn a new trick!!
there are more humane ways
1. If she is healthy, take the advice of the person that said change the kind of litter.
2. If you have the option, talk to a vet about changing her food, might be causing blockage.
3. Build her an outside domain…sounds weird but we have a siamese that was peeing all over everything!! My hubby built a caged in area outside for her to go out whenever she pleased. Although she still pooped in her box, she peed outside…very weird. If she shows any interest in going out and playing, which Rocky did, it might be best.
4. Instead of rubbing her nose in it, which is PROVEN not to work (cats don't have a long enough memory to know they peed there…they will only remember when you have caught them in the act)!! Try the squirt bottle. Cats don't like water….and they definately don't like water sprayed on them if they are doing something bad. This works when you catch em in the act or when you see them wandering around "looking" for a spot to go.
5. Put her in the bathroom…same time every day and when you leave (like crate training a dog)~ with the litter box
#3 and #5 were our solutions!! They worked the best!
good luck, it's definately an issue I have dealt with SEVERAL times!!

I am 28 weeks pregnant and I know it sounds wierd, but everywhere I go I smell cat urine. It is driving me ABSOLUTELY crazy! I don't have cats, and nowhere I go has cats but I smell it in my living room at home, I smell it at work in the cafeteria. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this during pregnancy.

Just clean like you have never cleaned before. Anyway smells are highly sensitive for some people just like cravings. Yours just happens to be cat urine.
