Well, my cat was in the house during the holidays and my college books were on the counter in the kitchen. Sometime during the night, he jumped on the counter and sprayed my Spanish book. I tried to clean it the best I could and thought the smell was gone, but I started class today and it still smells really bad! How do I get the smell out without having to buy a new book?
I forgot to mention that the smell is only on the outside of the book.
Sorry, but you'll never get all of the stink out of the book.
Setting it outside in the hot sun will get some of it out. Keeping it in a bag of cedar chips will draw it a little. You can douse it with perfume, clean it, air it, and whatever, but that smell will not be 100% gone for many years.

Sorry, its pretty much absorbed in the paper. Try putting book in a bag with dryer sheets, maybe that will help mask the odor

Try spraying perfume on tha book inside and outside. Tie up the book with a shoe lace…something that can keep the book close no matter what….if you have a personal dryer….try spraying more purfume inside the dryer and put the book in the dryer…turn it on and keep the book in for about 5 mins
