Try to locate the precise spots -- a black light can be useful in that effort. Next, clean the area using nature's miracle or a similar product. Finally, work on the behavoir issue. I would start with a trip to the vet to rule out any physical causes. Next, I would start with some behavior tips http://www.ddfl.org/tips.htm#cat
References :
Burn the couch.

Ignore the moronic comment from someone to hit your cat. This is a certain way to make it do it again.
References :
You can try the "odor remover" products available at pet stores, but I've had limited sucess with them. The only way to completely eliminate the odor is to wash (and I mean SOAK) and rinse repeatedly. It may ruin the couch, but if it stinks, it's pretty much toast anyway.....
References :
Figure out why your pet is urinating and/or defecating in inappropriate areas. (For help, see our tips on Solving Litter Box Problems, Housetraining Your Puppy, and Reducing Urine-Marking Behavior in Dogs and Cats.)
Make the areas unattractive and/or unavailable. (For help, see our advice on using aversives to modify your pet's behavior.)
Make the appropriate "bathroom" area attractive. (For help, read our information on Positive Reinforcement: Training Your Dog or Cat with Treats and Praise, Housetraining Your Puppy, and Solving Litter Box Problems.)
Teach your pet the appropriate place to eliminate by using positive reinforcement techniques.
References :
Go to this website!
