You shouldn't use bleach on cat urine. Cat urine has ammonia in it. When you mix bleach with ammonia you can get a toxic chemical reaction (much like the gas used in the holocaust). Do a search for "ammonia & bleach" and you'll find reports that will make you think before using strong chemicals in the home, and especially will make you stop before mixing cleaning products.

Also, because cat urine is ammonia based & will attract your cat back to pee again - so you can't use ammonia either - it'll make it waaaay worse!

I have tried soooo many things to get rid of cat pee smell & stain - most things I've tried either don't work at all, or the smell comes back, or they are incredibly expensive. You don't want to spend a fortune - especially when it's not even your cat- so this recipe is great.

I swear by a recipe I got which I make up myself when I need it. It's quick & easy to make & wont break the bank and best of all it uses stuff I already have at home.

I got the recipe from www.caturineoff.com - it's a marriage saver!

I absolutely recommend it - it is the simplest & most effective cleaner for cat pee that I've ever found.
References :
Get the recipe from http://caturineoff.com

go to pet co/ pet smart or other pet store and buy an oder remover or scrub it with vinegar and baking soda, let it sit for a while and rinse with a container of water and repeat...the smell may dissipate on its own with time and it will take a long time to do so.....
References :
A solution of chlorox bleach and water on a rag will remove the smell, too, but you'd have to test it on some hidden spot first to make sure that it doesn't bleach the wood. Don't get it on a carpet or curtains, and be sure to rinse it off afterwards with another wet rag.
References :
Do not use ammonia or bleach Both of these attract cats. Try scrubbing with vinegar and water. Good Luck!!
