Scrub the carpet with this and it should work well. If you have repetitive urine spots then I'd subjest having your carpet professionally cleaned. The best thing you can do is buy a carpet enzyme type cleaner . I think "Capture " is one name. The enzyme breaks down the urine so the smell is less. Nothing really gets rid of odor in wall to wall. I think hard wood floors are the way to go. My husband sells carpet vacuums and used to work for a carpet guy so they had to deal with this one a lot. Bad if smell gets into the carpet pad too. If smell is only in carpet. you could put a carpet remnant just in the closet area as a last resort and get rid of the smelly carpet. I made a spray with part vinager and part water and drowned a part of my carpet the cats had totally destroyed by always peeing on it.
