Mix a spray bottle with a 50/50 mixture of vinegar and water. Spray the area liberally to dampen the carpet and soak in deep enough. Extract as much as possible with a couple of old towels or some paper towels. After it dries, place a liberal amount of baking soda over the carpet and allow to sit overnight. Vacuum up the baking soda and the smell should dissipate.

I had this same problem and I tried all these other home remedies people are talking about. Have you tried PetZyme? You can find jugs of it at PetSmart. I swear by the stuff. My one cat was peeing in a corner in my living room at my old place and it totally removed the stain and the smell.

same thing happened to us. we tried EVERYTHING! but my moms nose still detected the smell even when the rest of the family couldn’t. She couldn’t stand it and so we ended up replacing the whole carpet.
maybe just replace the little chunk of the carpet where the pee pee was. but If you have a strong sense of smell like my mom then you may not find a way to just clean the smell out.
